Hussein Chalayan is the new designer for Vionnet’s Demi-Couture collection. Working closely with Goga Ashkenazi, the brand’s president and creative director, the Turkish/Cypriot British designer has created a unique collection. To discover it, we will have to wait for the January Paris Haute Couture shows: the perfect stage for a line that references the spirit, attention to quality, and uniqueness that were the “signature” of founder Madeleine Vionnet.

Ashkenazi highlights the conceptual approach of the designer: “I have always been fascinated by this, and also by how his work goes beyond the traditional boundaries of fashion. Chalayan is one of the most creative and visionary designers. I am sure he will add something special to Vionnet’s Demi-Couture collection.”

The designer responds: “I am thrilled and honored. The creative energy, as well as Goga Ashkenazi’s entrepreneurial approach, combined with the brand’s incomparable heritage, make this collaboration very exciting for me.”

Vionnet’s Demi-Couture collection is now in its third season: its “characteristic” is to combine the high-quality craftsmanship and impeccable workmanship of haute couture with the accessibility of ready-to-wear.
